Through its Policy and Advocacy Program, the Uganda Chamber of Energy and Minerals (UCEM) engages in continuous dialogue with government, private sector stakeholders, and development partners to shape policies that support a thriving and sustainable energy and minerals sector. UCEM participates in key national and regional forums such as the Presidential Investors’ Roundtable (PIRT), Budget Sector Working Groups, the Prime Minister’s Forum, the Presidential Economic Council (PEC), and East African Community (EAC) engagements.
These platforms have enabled UCEM to champion strengthened Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), improve government responsiveness to sector concerns, and increase private sector involvement in national, regional, and global trade and policy discussions. UCEM’s growing influence has earned recognition across Uganda and within the EAC region, including countries such as Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, and South Sudan.
